1 Financial Data & Client-Side Processing
Your salary, investments, deductions, and tax data are never sent to our servers. All calculations run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter a value into any calculator field, that data is processed locally on your device and discarded when you leave the page.
TaxSmart India is engineered as a fully static website hosted on a CDN. Our web server serves HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files — it does not receive, log, or store any form submissions. There are no API endpoints that accept financial inputs. This architecture makes it technically impossible for us to access your tax data.
This applies to all our calculators: Income Tax, Salary, EMI, SIP, HRA, Gratuity, and PPF.
2 Website Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are popular, which calculators are most used, and how users navigate the site. This helps us improve the tools for everyone.
Google Analytics may collect:
- Your approximate geographic location (city or region level, not precise)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website (how you found us)
We have enabled IP anonymisation in our GA4 configuration. Your full IP address is never stored. Google Analytics data is processed under Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3 Advertising (Google AdSense)
TaxSmart India is a free service. To sustain operations, we display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Ad revenue is what keeps TaxSmart India free. If you use an ad-blocker, we respect your choice — but consider disabling it for this site to support free, independent tools for Indian taxpayers.
4 Cookies & Local Storage
Our calculators do not use cookies or localStorage to save your inputs. No data persists between sessions. If you close and reopen a calculator, you start fresh.
Cookies may be set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described in sections 2 and 3. These cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy and are used solely for analytics and advertising purposes.
5 Third-Party Links
Some pages on TaxSmart India may contain links to external resources such as the Income Tax Department website (incometaxindia.gov.in), CBDT circulars, or other financial platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party websites and encourage you to read their policies independently.
6 Children's Privacy
TaxSmart India is designed for working adults and is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information to this website, please contact us immediately.
7 Your Rights (IT Act, 2000)
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023, Indian residents have rights regarding their personal data. Since TaxSmart India does not collect or store your financial data, there is effectively no personal financial data to access, correct, or delete.
For analytics data held by Google, you may exercise your rights directly through Google's privacy controls at myaccount.google.com.
