Why Use TaxSmart India for Financial Planning?

Managing your personal finances in India involves navigating a complex web of tax slabs, deductions, PF contributions, and investment rules — all of which change with each Union Budget. TaxSmart India gives every salaried employee, freelancer, and business owner a single, trusted platform to make sense of it all.

Income Tax Planning for FY 2025-26

The Finance Minister's Budget 2025 introduced significant changes to the New Tax Regime, including a revised ₹12 lakh rebate under Section 87A and updated standard deduction rules. Our Income Tax Calculator reflects all these changes and lets you compare your liability under both Old and New regimes side-by-side — so you can choose whichever saves you more money before your employer's investment declaration deadline.

Understanding Your Take-Home Salary

Your CTC (Cost-to-Company) and your actual in-hand salary can differ significantly. EPF contributions (12% of basic pay), professional tax, and income tax TDS all reduce what hits your bank account. Our Salary In-Hand Calculator breaks down every component, so you're never surprised on payday.

Smart Loan & Investment Planning

Whether you're planning a home loan, a car purchase, or a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in mutual funds, our calculators give you the exact numbers you need:

Tax Deductions That Save You Money

Maximising deductions is the fastest way to legally reduce your tax burden. Key sections to know for FY 2025-26 include Section 80C (up to ₹1.5 lakh via ELSS, LIC, PPF), Section 80D (health insurance premiums), Section 24(b) (home loan interest), and HRA exemption under Section 10(13A) for those paying rent. Our tools calculate the exact benefit of each deduction in rupees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Indian taxes and our calculators.

It depends on your deductions. The New Regime is generally better if you have few deductions and earn under ₹12 lakh (thanks to the Section 87A rebate giving zero tax). The Old Regime wins if you have significant 80C investments, HRA, home loan interest, or NPS contributions. Use our Tax Calculator to compare both regimes with your exact numbers in under 30 seconds.

Yes, under the New Tax Regime. Budget 2025 enhanced the Section 87A rebate so that taxpayers with taxable income up to ₹12 lakh pay zero income tax. For salaried employees, with the ₹75,000 standard deduction included, the effective zero-tax limit is ₹12.75 lakh gross salary. Note: this rebate applies only to regular income, not special-rate incomes like capital gains.

HRA exemption under Section 10(13A) is the lowest of three amounts: (1) Actual HRA received from employer, (2) Rent paid minus 10% of basic salary, or (3) 50% of basic salary if you live in a metro city (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata) or 40% for non-metro cities. Our HRA Calculator computes all three and shows you the exact exempt amount.

You are eligible for gratuity after completing 5 years of continuous service with the same employer. The formula is: Gratuity = (Last drawn salary × 15 × Years of service) ÷ 26, where "salary" means basic pay + dearness allowance. The maximum tax-exempt gratuity is ₹20 lakh. Use our Gratuity Calculator to get your exact entitlement.

Our calculators are built on the official tax slabs, rates, and rules as notified in the Union Budget and Income Tax Act. They are updated after every budget announcement. However, individual tax situations can be complex — the figures shown are accurate estimates for typical scenarios. For final tax filing, we always recommend consulting a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
